John Burroughs,
a.k.a. Jesus Crisis, is a pacifist, poet, playwright, musician, composer, bibliophile, and seeker in Elyria, Ohio.
Co-founder (with Dianne Borsenik) of the monthly Lix and Kix Poetry Extravaganza and the annual winter wordfest known as Snoetry, John is also the founding editor and publisher for Crisis Chronicles Press and a regular contributor to the Cleveland Poetics and Ohio Poetry Association blogs. Since 2011 he has served as the OPA's webmaster pro tem.
John founded a loose association called Poets of Lorain County, under whose auspices he's hosted regular open mic and featured poet events at the Avon Lake Public Library and the Lorain Arts Council's 737 Gallery, as well as the PoetryElyria series at Jim's Coffeehouse and Diner, the Scott M. Duncan Photography studio and other venues in his hometown.
John's work has appeared on stages in four states, as well as in numerous journals, and he is the author of six poetry chapbooks, including:

Deja vu all over again.... 'How many American lives is it worth" was his question...? Wow... It makes me cringe to think if he had listened to his own counsel things would be so diferent right now.

Every mistake ever made in this so-called war of invasion is due to politics, hypocrisy and fanaticism. I will never forget Colin Powell at the UN holding up a vial of what he called anthrax and stating that just a bit of this would kill. I also will never forget the French ambassador who
said that we should not rush to war since the inspectors in Iraq are not finding any WMD or anthrax and instead of waiting the invasion went on. Then it was that the French are traitors, people were spilling French wine on the street, they called French fries, "Freedom Fries" etc. The American public has been losing its mind ever since. Who is to blame? Bush, the idiot, was elected and
Al Gore lost. Who elected Bush anyway, and twice!! We have had nearly seven years of this.
Is it only Bush that is an idiot? Only 30% of eligible Americans vote anyway. It is a capitalist
democracy and big oil always wins. Please listen to the man who should have been President...
Al Gore. Read his books and think!! We can't even impeach Bush because Cheney would be president. Everyone thinks about this. Forget the dick jokes. Dick doesn't have a dick or even balls. He is a f....ing hypocrite and is an endangered species and has a heart monitor that has to be changed every year or so. He will die and Bush will be out of office. Pray for peace.

Soon the gullible American public will have enough, like they did with Nixon/Watergate/Vietnam and the Republicans in 1976. Of course they've since forgotten those lessons and voted for Bush twice.
My fear is that 12 or 20 years from now, when the environment is in better hands and the massive Federal deficit is once again history (as it was at the end of the Bill Clinton era), Americans will again forget and be eager to bully the world and will elect an elderly and possibly Alzheimer's-affected Jeb Bush (or worse) to be "leader of the free world."

Until the eligible voters in this country actually stand up and vote, we will continue down the road of apathy and regret. It wouldn't hurt to have a decent, honest source for news, either. I suppose if the government can't even REPORT the correct facts, it really doesn't matter who is doing the reporting, now does it? JUST VOTE!!!!!
