The Insignificants

They say "a picture is worth a thousand words" and "every picture tells a story."
So I'll let this photo of me singing "No Bird Sang" in a
1996 Easter musical entitled The Insignificants be today's blog.
I welcome your thoughts and impressions.

that's really weird. you look totally biblical, dude.

This, I believe, was one of the times when Jesus the Christ was being sarcastic.....
People who "praised" Him usually were setting him up for something, as well he knew.

You may very well be right about the sarcasm. We don't generally think of Jesus in that way. But he did have a humanity about him, even if one thinks of him as God.... Thanks for your comment, Ninure!

Is that true, people who praised him were setting him up and he knew it? I don't know. People praise Jesus all the time and I think they might be setting themselves up or maybe it's just when the spirit moves ya, you speak with heightened emotion. I know that once, I went to the doctor and told her about my troubles and the assistant broke out in an emotional display, speaking in tongues. Scared the he'll outta me but I knew I had somehow moved that woman. When someone moves us, we respond. I think that praise sometimes comes from how someone makes you feel. And I do think Jesus knew that.

Some very astute observations, Terese! It's been a while since we've had one of these biblical discussions on my blog. And for a while in the fall it seemed that we discussed nothing else. Maybe it's time to do another "religious blog" soon. Thanks for your contribution!

Cool... lol. It was my first time on stage in prison - and the song was a capella. I was a bit scared.
And then the director had to put me in that purple pastel dress! Fortunately I escaped that production without being molested.

I know that had to be rough...i speak in prisons and i know how nervous i get when i do that i am not scared of the people it is just that it is a very uneasy place. I speak of addiction and recovery.

You look like you had stage fright or was it just that you really saw an angel? That really would have been a crisis for baby Jesus and would have had a lot of significance. (Cute picture of you)

Thanks, Elena! I definitely had stage fright. The picture was taken by Chaplain Hugh Daley at our only dress rehearsal for the first play I ever did with the prison's Ministry of Theatre, long before I became a wizened old veteran.... lol.

Man bro I remember the play and the goofy thing on your chin. It's funny what we thought was cool. Thanks for the chuckle.

I won't grow that thing again, because my chin hairs come in white while the rest of my facial hair is still pretty much brown.
Well... maybe when all my hair turns white. LOL

I love that Picture!! It Reminds me of a look someone might have if they walked in on something a little more pleasant than they had ever dreamed.

LOL... thanks, Angela! That about sums it up. After that play I was hooked, and ended up doing about 12 more while there.
