Easter Sunday, we were walking.Easter Sunday, we were talking.Isabel, my little one, take my hand. Time has come.Isabella, all is glowing.Isabella, all is knowing. And my heart, Isabella. And my head, Isabella.Frederick and Vitalie, savior dwells inside of thee.Oh, the path leads to the sun. Brother, sister, time has come.Isabella, all is glowing.Isabella, all is knowing.Isabella, we are dying.Isabella, we are rising.I am the spring, the holy ground, the endless seed of mystery, the thorn, the veil, the face of grace, the brazen image, the thief of sleep, the ambassador of dreams, the prince of peace.I am the sword, the wound, the stain.Scorned transfigured child of Cain.I rend, I end, I return.Again I am the salt, the bitter laugh.I am the gas in a womb of light, the evening star, the ball of sight that leads that sheds the tears of Christdying and drying as I rise tonight.Isabella, we are rising.Isabella, we are rising . . .

A chocolate Jesus is just what kids need. An edible god! Something like communion. Is this a playboy bunny or just a flying confection? Did the Easter bunny lay eggs under the cross? I am so mixed up about all these holidays. I am seeking origins for these myths while seeking the light of spring in the snow. Maybe this blog is the answer. Maybe anthropology or psychology have the answers. I don't listen to Patti Smith but Parsifal on Easter. It is a spiritual and beautiful opera and this has become a tradition for me. It really rocks..and is founded on the rock of ages. So rock on Jesus Crisis. We love you. Somewhere the real redeemer liveth but where is he? In a chocolate factory along with Charlie?

Thanks, Helen! And by the way, I received the Horizon DVD and flyers via snail mail today!
I find it quite interesting that a spiritual woman born of a Methodist minister and married to a Jewish man can find inspiration on Easter in a beautifully sad opera by a sadly disturbing anti-semitic composer. Just shows that nothing in this world is black and white and there is beauty and ugliness in everything if we look for it.... I love Wagner's music (including Parsifal), while very much disliking the man himself. Sometimes it's possible to hate a man and love his work - or love a man and hate his work - or love parts of each and hate parts of each. This is on my mind because I've just read and commented on a provocative blog about Barack Obama and Jeremiah Wright by my friend Anonymous. Check it out here:

So I find beauty in many places and some spirituality in all religions. Remember Jesus was a Jew just like you we used to say. I did check out Anonymous and left a comment also. I liked yours. I have to run to finish getting things in shape around here and pick up Miriam and Katy at about 8:00 at the airport. I am happy that you got the DVD and flyers. Great. Now I hope you can get your computer working. Talk to you later.

Patti does indeed rock! Use to see her on the streets in the East Village in NYC with her late friend, Robert Mapplethorpe. What a pair!

Wow... that would have been very cool. I've always liked Robert, too, at least from his work I've seen and interviews I've read.
Right now I'm listening to Patti's "Pissing in a River," which I believe I have on one of my MySpace playlists.
Thanks, Pugzz

It never ceases to amaze me that people are more perplexed by chocolate bunnies and colored eggs than they are by a Man-God rising from the dead. The chocolate bunny exists for two reasons: it's delicious and you can ask people, "Do you eat the ears first, or are you some sort of freak?"
