Go-bama!
I've told some people already; but I feel I should make it public.
I won't go into my reasons, which are many, right now. Too much to do today....
But here goes:

Even Hillary's endorsing him.
The Johnny picture is definitely a joke.

I like much of his style, but I'm ever suspicious. Corporate funding moves underneath his talk like tectonic plates. And his talk ain't always very agreeable - all options on the table n such where Iran's concerned, and he wants to subsidize ethanol, the false panacea.
O well, I guess I can never have the perfect candidate. I'll probably vote for him.
Should be interesting to see who he picks for his VP. I'm hoping Edwards or some such person.

Whoever made the picture above should be shot as a traitor. I guess you don't care if McCain wins. Well Hillary just may be Vice President and she supports the Democratic Party and will campaign for Obama. Remember at this point in time he is running 50-50 with McCain. There are an awful lot of racist and conservative Republicans or Bush wouldn't have won twice. This has been an extraordinary primary and Hillary has has the support of millions of voters who now either support Obama (and maybe even her on the ticket) or the Republicans have a good chance of winning again. It ain't over till it's
over guys. So all Hillary lovers and all Hillary haters have to take in account their own best interests. Love McCain and we are all going to be in deep do do..forever...

McCain is not an option. I'd die before I'd vote republican.
The question for me is whether I vote for the Green Party, or whether I hold my nose and vote for the Democrats.
Here's an awful little bit I read today about Obama's unconditional support of Israel:
"Obama went on to blame the Palestinians for the conflict, although the ratio of Palestinians to Israelis killed in 2007 was 40 to 1. This is an increase from 30 to 1 in 2006 and 4 to 1 in 2000-2005.
“I will bring to the White House an unshakable commitment to Israel’s security. That starts with ensuring Israel’s qualitative military advantage, …” Obama told AIPAC. “I will ensure Israel can defend itself from any threat, from Gaza to Tehran. …”
"Obama spoke about Israelis whose houses were damaged by the crude rockets, most made out of old pipes, fired from Gaza on Israeli towns. He never mentioned the Israeli siege of Gaza, the world’s largest open-air prison, or that Israel was deploying fighter jets and helicopters to attack densely crowded refugee camps with missiles and iron fragmentation bombs or that it had cut off food and fuel. He ignored the steady expansion of Jewish settlements on Palestinian land. He called for Jerusalem to become the “undivided capital” of the Jewish state, erasing Arab East Jerusalem from the map in contravention of international law. East Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip are internationally recognized as occupied Palestinian territories, which Israel took over in 1967. Obama’s stance is the moral equivalent of assuring the Johannesburg government during the apartheid era that one would support their repressive efforts to punish the restive blacks in the townships.

Thanks, Lady! I agree that Obama is not the perfect candidate. In fact, there may not be such a thing. And I appreciate the article you shared. Much to consider....
You've hit the nail on the head as far as McCain not being an option - and that's true in so many arenas from Iraq to the economy to the type of Supreme Court justices he will likely appoint and so on....
I must admit I no longer seriously consider voting for a third party. At least one of them might deserve to win - but the sad truth is that they have no chance of winning in 2008. Obama's the only candidate who can keep McCain out of the White House, and I suspect that he's going to need every vote he can get to do it.
But I remain "ever suspicious," like you.

LOL.. such a sell out... *snickers*... ;-p But who else is there to vote for .. really??? I'm not voting for McCain either.... I can tell you that.
Now... will Hillary play second fiddle or and be VP or not? I wonder.
She'd do a better job than Cheney.... at least I know she won't be running rampant anywhere with a firearm...
Anyway... interesting flip flop but everyone is doing it.
I just waited till the end... now I can jump in and help sell Obama.

Thanks, Chris!
I think Hillary will do it, if offered. Who wouldn't? But I don't think she'll be offered it. Maybe a staunch Hillary supporter like Ohio Governor Ted Strickland (who's already shifted to throwing his political muscle behind Obama). Ted seems extremely ethical, he's immensely popular in this crucial state, his presence on the ticket might help assuage hurt Hillary supporters, he's quite charismatic, he's also an ordained minister (which might help catch the Christian's who aren't ga-ga over McCain), and at age 66 he's not likely to try running to replace Obama in the future.
From the beginning, I knew I would wholeheartedly support Obama if he won the nomination, and I've actually gained respect for him through the course of the campaign.
Wasn't Bill running rampant with a "firearm" much of the time he was in the White House... lol.

i'll vouch for you on the supporting obama if hillary didn't get the nomination. we talked when i fence sitting before our primaries.
i like the idea of strickland as VP. he seems like a good guy, based on the video you shot from rallies, and from things i have since read about him.
cuomo, gore, kucinich, nadar. why hasn't feinstein made a bid? i love her.

I really had my heart set on Hillary, but Obama is hardly a disappointing candidate. I hope that the American people are smart enough to realise that we can't afford another four years with a candidate who knows nothing about the economy and doesn't see a problem with continuing the war for a hundred years. Now more than ever it is critical that we vote for the democratic nominee. I hope that all the single issue voters realise that the most important issues we are facing today are ending this war and ending our dependence on oil, because the reality is that oil and war are not sustainable solutions.

I am not fighting the political Near East politics here nor am I a fanatical hater of Hillary or Obama. But I do see a heartening difference this election. For the first time in the history of this country we have had a bi-racial man, a woman and a conservative war hero running for president in the primaries.
Up to this point the Democratic Party has been really split over Obama and Clinton. Perhaps either one of them could win over McCain. The voting in the primaries was very very close and almost a tie between Hillary and Barack.
However, the polls show right now that McCain and Obama are running too close for comfort. Shouldn't that worry us a bit after the last nearly eight years of Republican government? There are more people who voted in the Democratic primaries than ever before in history. For anyone disappointed in not having Hillary as first choice it would be sickening for them to vote for McCain but they just might, especially if she isn't on the ticket. Think again before everyone decides to stupidly use their preferences for Hillary to either not vote or to vote for a Republican again.
Yes the war, yes the price of oil, but remember the total price to everyone for
the next four years. As they said when Clinton was elected..."It's the economy stupid." So don't be so stupid...!!!
And by the way a lot of racists think it would be terrible to have a negro in the White House. I use that term rather than the pejorative that they use. But they might just die off of old age before they get a chance to vote. lol.

Thanks, Tara and Elena!
Having a woman and an African-American man as the two top contenders in the Democratic party is definitely heartening. Sad that so many people would still rather have another old white man, even though McCain admits he understands little about the economy, he thinks we may need to be in Iraq for 100 years, and he'll appoint Court justices more like Clarence Thomas and Antonin Scalia than Thurgood Marshall and Ruth Bader Ginsberg....

I was the one that suggested she post that stupid graphic on your page. Sorry...
I thought it would add some much needed humor to what looks like a really dry, humorless 4-5 months ahead. Unfortunately, neither Obama nor McCain are very good fuel for the humor grist-mill.
Not sure why that bothers me though. I guess I find confort in a candidate or president that can laugh at themselves and both Obama and McCain are pretty boring. I couldn't even find anything good on any Letterman outtakes. At least Bush and Cheney were good for a joke.
Ah.. me.... the long campaign trail... I don't look forward to 5 months of political ads...

Maybe it isn't so much the economy stupid but the Iraq War after five years. The electorate is angry with this war and against the Republicans and Bush for even starting it. So I think Joe Biden might be a better choice for Obama than others for VP since he is so well placed to argue that withdrawal from Iraq would strengthen rather than weaken the U. S. Maybe the highest priority on this election should be to contest national security issues and set about fixing our foreign policies. Joe Biden, whose book I have read, would be someone either to be VP in a democratic nomination or at least someone to rely on in any foreign policy debate. He is
a good choice and for the right reasons.
He would stand up against McCain well in any debate.

The latest news is that Obama is considering retired military officers for VP. The names he is considering are not known. I think the best VP would be Wes Clark who was my favorite candidate for president in the last election. Wes Clark is an admirable choice since he was former head of NATO and has a brilliant mind for politics. At this point I would pick him over Hillary since Obama needs all the help he can get for ending the war in Iraq. Also he would make a terrific Secy. of Defense and the Pentagon could use someone like him.

I could live with Wes.
I heard McCain's considering Lynndie England for his running mate.
