A Message from Barack Obama
Hillary Clinton will be at my alma mater, Lorain County Community College in Elyria, Ohio, campaigning for Barack Obama this Sunday (14 September, which also happens to be my wife's birthday). I won't be able to make it, since I have too much to do around the house; but anyone else interested can register here.
The following is an e-mail I received from the Obama campaign yesterday. The message had "Forward this E-mail" written in its subject line, and I'm complying because I believe that although Obama is by no means perfect, he is by far our best choice among the electable presidential candidates.

John —
In Ohio, you know how few votes it can take to tip an election. You probably also know more than one Buckeye who isn't registered to vote.
The registration deadline on October 6th is fast approaching.
Tell your friends, family, and neighbors to check out our new, one-stop voter registration website.
Just forward this message.
Our new Ohio registration site makes it easier than ever to get registered. Instead of tracking down the right forms, all you need to do is answer a few basic questions and you'll have everything you need to become registered. You can also:
- Confirm your registration status
- Apply to vote absentee
If you need to confirm that you're registered or you'd like to learn more, take a minute to visit the site right now:
http://oh.barackobama.com/OHregister
This race is too close and too important to stay home on Election Day.
If you take the time to register and vote — and make sure everyone you know is registered as well — we'll be able to turn the tide of the past eight years.
It's people just like you who will transform this nation.
Thanks for everything you are doing in Ohio,
Barack

he's everywhere. i got the same message with virginia instead of ohio in it.

Yay for you!!
He's "my" Senator, so I get lots of form letters from him.
I don't kniw whoo writes them, but at least they make sense, as compared to other politicos I "hear " from.

For the sake of "balance" I used to try to read the other candidates' letters, too - until finally I couldn't take it anymore, which in McCain's case didn't take long.
Thanks for stopping by, Ninure!

That is an incredibly important message that you posted. I hope that anyone who has not already registered to vote heeds it. I think that it is every American's responsibility to participate in our government, and I hope that everyone will. I'm tickled that you and Barack are on a first-name basis! ;

I read this in the Morning Journal. They say there is only room for about 1,000.
Are you planning to go? I guess not since it is Geri's birthday tomorrow.

No, I wouldn't do that!

I heard today that they plan to have the overflow from the College Center building in the Stocker Center and Spitzer Conferencing Center. So more than 1,000 people will get to hear Hillary on campus. Whether they will get to see her after she speaks is another story.
No one who works on campus and is not directly involved with the event will be allowed in any of the buildings until before 3 p.m. tomorrow and, since she is speaking right outside of where I work, I won't have gone in anyway!
Didn't today either since they were coming through with the bomb-sniffing dogs... hope they didn't find my stash of dark chocolate!
I wouldn't go regardless of my political affiliation because I don't like crowds but I do hope the event go off without a hitch for the college's sake.
And I'm going to see if the website above can tell me where I go to vote. I recently moved and know I have lost the postcard telling me where my new voting location is. Worse comes to worst, I could call the election board... certainly don't want to miss voting in this election.

When we saw Hillary Clinton at Lyndhurst High School in the spring, they sent the massive overflow to the cafeteria and a conference room, where folks who didn't fit into the gym could at least see her on closed circuit TV. Then after her speech she went to those remote locations to thank folks personally, shake hands and sign autographs. All three times I went to see a Clinton (Lyndhurst, Lorain, and Lakewood), they made every effort to get everyone in and greet as many people as possible personally. When I went to see Barack in Parma Heights, my nephew and I were turned away because they didn't have room - little effort was apparently made to fit overflow anywhere. But that was way back when.....
Thanks for sharing, Pinky!

Don't worry I'm all registered and ready to vote... just waiting to do so... not looking forward to all the political ads though... ugh.

The ads have been relentless in Ohio for some time now. Seems they've not stopped since before the primary season.... In Michigan, there was at least a thin silver lining to not having your primary vote count - none of the candidates campaigned there early on and you were spared six to nine months of ubiquitous TV ads. I don't even watch TV and I saw too many of them, just walking through the room when my wife was watching it.
The Sarah doll is awesome! Even cooler than my Hillary Clinton nutcracker....
