Karma Souptra (poem)

Campbell's Soup I (1968) by Andy Warhol
Tin can karma
In a cemetery green sedan
Driving into the past
Through the future
Running round and round
And over and over
The illusory track of time
Like a bomb
That never goes off
Like a song that rings
In Campbell's soup cans
Round and round the rims
Not going out or in
Just sticking to the circuit
Like a one ring soup can
Gerbil wheel circus
Till the tin finally erodes
The illusion of time caves in
And full circle cemetery green
Karma darts to the next can
In the aisle of now.

I've never paid a lot of attention to soup cans before and, after examining these, I realized they say condensed on them which adds an entirely new dimension to the metaphor of karma and time in the poem.
Very way cool... love it... if it weren't bad karma, I'd admit to how damn jealous I am of your tremendous talent. Instead, I'll say keep them coming!

Split Pea Group Access denied
A pea rolls around in some people's brains trying to find a level spaced place
No idea is usually formed in time
Sports minded people have beer
In the belly and game on the brain
Reality is framed from sitting on the 50 yard line

Here is all the great flowing words and flowery adjectives rolled up into a pigskinned football.
This is dedicated to the wives of all the couch potatoes and the siblings of the football brothers and everyother tired of sports as god. Access Denied.

John can convert the code into an image later... so you can always post it anyway... For some reason it doesn't work here the way it does on MySpace.
Cool collage Steve...

For some reason, though I have the site set to accept HTML code, it's not working when folks try to leave comments. I'm baffled as to why. But it lets me do it when I reply - and it also allows me to edit comments. So for now if you leave the image URL I can turn it into an image in your comments, as I've done above.
Very cool and perfect art, Smith! Glad you shared it here.

At least by the 70s we were ready to impeach Nixon, whether or not he ended the war
In the aughts (naughts), we're ready to elect McPalin whether or not they continue the war

Campbells Soup and the can it comes in are pure marketing genius. It's the only product I can remember that has not changed one bit since I was a kid. When I open a can of Chicken Noodle for my daughter, "the illusion of time caves in." I could be my own mother opening that can for me. Everything chages except that can.

It's amazing what an image of a can can do.

Actually, it was more your words than anything else that prompted the thought. I interpreted your interpretation.
