Attention Animal Lovers!
My friend Helen Bennett-Harvey and her daughter Kiley Harvey have created a very cool blog for animal lovers at http://teslaslove.blogspot.com. Go there to read others' pet stories or share your own. Just this morning, they published a piece I wrote last year after losing our dear cat Crickett. Read my story by clicking here, or submit your own by emailing Helen and Kiley at teslaslove@gmail.com.

Man with two pussies - Crickett, Ballou and me in 2004 [photo by Geri]

I remember this blog well since I felt so bad for you losing Crickett. I understand since I have five cats and three are black. You Mom gave me Karma with the white spot under her chin so Katy, my granddaughter calls her Spot.
She couldn't keep her since she was so allergic to cats. What you wrote about Cricklett was so charming and loving. Just like you are (usually) lol

You can tell from the look on Crickett's face that she was a cat with attitude! And she's gone to the great cat nip field in the sky--sorry for your loss...
That was a wonderful blog BTW!
Your Ballou looks just like one of my cats who is roaming the cat nip fields now. His name started out as Peanut because he was so little when I got him but he was quickly nicknamed Goober because he got into so much mischief!
I changed apartments in the dead of winter and ended up paying $150 more a month in rent just to get the two kitties that I have now. I don't know what I would do without them.

Nice photo.. you always looked so relaxed in your photos.. it always makes me envious...I rarely am ever that relaxed I think. ... maybe it is the "two pussies" that does it.. LOL....
Cats have a way of sharing their innate relaxed state with people I think. I think that's why they say having pets is good for people.
By the way how are the doggies doing?? I've seen no new blogs by any of the dogs lately... maybe its time to hear from them... and maybe their thoughts on politics or poetry or something. LOL... Especially Leda I don't know that she was ever blogged yet.

KITTIES!!!
How cute. I'm digging the full beard, too. I, also, am in winter hibernation mode and haven't seen a razor in a while. I hope to see you tomorrow.

I have always been a cat person, I have three, but growing up I had a beautiful dog, Lady. When my Dad called to ask if he could bring her home my Nana said, "Absolutely not!" Ten minutes later she got a telephone call that her brother had passsed away. My Mom called my Dad back and told him, "Bring the dog." Nana refused to have anything to do with Lady. She said that the purpuse of having a dog is to fall in love with it, knowing it's going to break your heart. It took about two weeks but Lady was able to win Nana over. They were the best of friends. Nana actually passed before Lady and the last thing Nana asked me to do for her was to take care of her dog.
