Xmas
X has been one of my favorite bands since I discovered their cassette More Fun in the New World in high school in 1983. Their other albums include the classic Los Angeles (produced by former Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek and chosen by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the 25 best records of the eighties). Here are a couple of X videos for Xmas (not to be confused with Christmas):
"I Must Not Think Bad Thoughts" by X (1983)

"Hot House and "Breathless" live on Letterman (1984)

X are John Doe, Exene Cervenka, DJ Bonebrake and Billy Zoom

Wow! Don't know how I ever missed them at the time but they're great!
They remind me a little of the Ramones and Patty Smith but mostly The Pixies (maybe it's the 'X')
Way cool, thanks! A great Xmas present

Thanks, Pinky! I should add that John Doe's solo album Forever Hasn't Happened Yet is one of my favorites ever. But I must admit that Exene Cervenka's solo album Old Wives Tales is an awful disappointment. Funny... because in 1983 I liked Exene better than John.

Cool! Not heard them before .. so something new for me. I believe I was living under the proverbial rock at that point in my life... was involved with Dick andw ent head long into classical music here.. so missed alot of good '80's music.
I tried to watch these yesterday but all the videos were loading slowly no matter what site I was on.. I finally gave up and came back today...
Thanks... makes me wonder what else I've missed.. almost hate to ask.
