Toys in the Attic (Jesus Meets Aerosmith)

For a while when I was a youngster, Aerosmith's Toys in the Attic was my favorite album.  I first heard it in my cousin Dave's garage on Concord Avenue in Elyria.  He had an automobile 8 track tape player and speakers hanging from the wall, wired up to a car battery sitting on a work bench.  That was our place to get away from the adults talking about fishing, hunting, TV, football or church.  That garage was, in a sense, our TV and our church.

Here's some related shite I found on the Internet:

Oh, forgot...I love that song! One of the first memories I have of this song...my now brother in law (8 years older) also loved this song and the first time I rode in his car I was in the back seat, all the windows were down, it was full blast, he had a huge fro that was flying all over the place and it felt like we were flying down the road as we were all singing along. I noticed a magnet he had by his radio on the dash "Devil spelled backwards is Lived" and I thought we were going to crash and die and Toys In The Attic was going to be the last thing I ever heard! ha ha Funny how songs can bring back memories...

Just what my margarita-soaked brain needed!! Thought I was going to pee my pants...!

Loved Toys in the Attic but Dream On fed my angst-filled teen-aged heart to the brim at the time...

Love the Buddha at the end too. Do you often kiss inanimate objects? Or was that just for the camera?

*smile* looks like you had fun making this one..

I was disappointed because I mistakenly thought it was going to be a home movie of you and your brother shaken it down in the garage... from years back... but this is a good substitute.. LOL..

Thanks, everyone!  Last year I did a video like this using Audioslave's song "Cochise" - but I didn't have the courage to post it on my blog.  If I can find it, maybe I'll put it out there finally for a laugh.

Here are some comments this Aerosmith post received on Facebook:

      how could i resist?

Stacey Mangiaracina at 5:52pm March 28
We did the same stuff with old Van Halen music. Of course we didn't have the garage set up like you...we just had girlie slumber parties and the craziness went on all night! That's when The Go-Go's came out and then when Duran Duran hit some of the girls went to the "Duranie" side and it was all over...geez!

Helen Shepard at 6:21pm March 28
      I watched this on mute.

John Burroughs at 6:44pm March 28
Strange, though... this was my least favorite song on the album for a long time. The Go Gos rocked - but if I do another lip-sync video, it'll be to a Duran Duran tune!

I LOVE it! You are too much, JC! Thanks for the laughter and the music-- you ROCK!

       Christina M. Brooks at 11:48pm March 28
You have to do a Freddy Mercury one.. I think it would be a natural... your very dramatic... Queen... a big Favorite here! That's my vote...

Stacey Mangiaracina at 11:58pm March 28
You mean you know Duran Duran songs? Whoa! Well, as long as you don't do that damn Safety Dance song by that band that I've chosen to forget from our slumber parties. Damn now I'm gonna look it up...

Susan Amethyst at 12:06am March 29

Stacey Mangiaracina at 12:18am March 29

       Christina M. Brooks at 12:20am March 29
Your on Face Book .. that is a sort of Hell already... now you are in song hell too...

Susan Amethyst at 12:20am March 29

Stacey Mangiaracina at 12:22am March 29

Susan Amethyst at 12:48am March 29
All you need is love...♥ there think of that one instead!

Stacey Mangiaracina at 12:49am March 29
LOL I put on some blues so I'm saved. But thanks anyway, I do appreciate the help.

John Burroughs at 8:49am March 29
You can dance if you want to, but please don't leave your friends behind.

Susan Amethyst at 9:09am March 29
We can go when we want to.
The night is young and so am I.
And we can dress real neat
From our hats to our feet
and surprise 'em with our victory cry.

Oh boy, now you did it!! I will be singing all day!!

Stacey Mangiaracina at 11:20am March 29
LOL what's that line..."You brought this upon yo'self!" Now all that's left is to bounce around like a dork while making an "S" with your arms in front of your body and you got the whole thing nailed! Welcome to Safety Dance hell...

John Burroughs at 11:33am March 29
Men and women without hats, unite!

Stacey Mangiaracina at 11:35am March 29
      oh dang...I like hats!
Susan Amethyst at 11:36am March 29
HA!! Okay John...any Duran Duran song...really....I could see you doing several of those!

John Burroughs at 11:46am March 29
If I did a Queen song, it might be "Crazy Little Thing Called Love." If Duran Duran... maybe "Wild Boys."

Susan Amethyst at 11:49am March 29
      love them both!

Susan Amethyst at 11:50am March 29

       Christina M. Brooks at 12:01pm March 29

Stacey Mangiaracina at 12:01pm March 29
wait...a crimping iron would be better! hell, let's just do an 80's flash back video!

       Christina M. Brooks at 12:10pm March 29
I hope this means anew video is in order...

Susan Amethyst at 1:27pm March 29
Come On Eileen...the best 80's song!!

John Burroughs at 6:28pm March 29
You can wear a hat - as long as you crimp your hair!

I know it's hard to tell in the video, but that's actually not a Buddha.  It's a Shiva statue from Indonesia that I bought from City Buddha in Cleveland Heights.
