Such a red car featured prominently in ZZ Top's video for the song "Gimme All Your Lovin'."

Wow, that's so ubiquitous in pop culture! I thought I lived under a rock...LOL, sorry Christine, just had to chuckle!

I can't believe the video's not on You Tube (or I would have posted it in my comment).

But Pink Floyd's "Jugband Blues" is there:

Well you know I have lived under a rock for 25 years... So that's why I always ask. I missed a large part of Pop culture living with my husband. Did not see music videos and such.
So sorry for not knowing... I won't ask next time..

Nothing wrong with admitting you don't know something.  I didn't watch a music video for 11 years and there's probably plenty I don't know.  Nothing wrong with finding or seeing humor in (or being amazed by) such things either.

Oh, no, Cindy, I didn't mean to make you feel bad for asking! I'm sorry, I was more ripping on myself for so instantly catching John's reference! Please, the only stupid questions are the ones we don't ask!

Good to know the Little Brown Jug is still serving the needs of Lorain Cty drunks! Even better to see Chronic alive and well. I once read the owner's palm...

They're right down the street from my house; but incredibly, I haven't been in the Jug since '92 or '93 and I've never been in Chronic.

For all that I passed the Jug a zillion times (I lived in N Ridgeville for 8 yrs, then Elyria for a year or so), I don't think I ever went in there. But seeing the sign just as it always was reminds me of better days, when I had a car, and a home of my own, and a body that still worked...

I loved the blog, John. Great things to share. Only one complaint... NOW... I'm going to have ZZ Top stuck in my head all freakin day! I actually might do something like this too. I just bought my first digital camera! (Okay, the first digital camera that actually works!)

Taking videos while riding a bike in traffic is a bit dangerous isn't it? Do you drive while texting on your cell phone also?
That isn't self promotion. It sounds more like self destruction to me.

Sorry, I said videos instead of photos.
But at least you stopped I hope before you took those photos of yourself and didn't aim the camera at your face while biking. lol

Elena you obviously have not seen Ken Kitts video he posted of his FB page of his bike ride through the metro park... video camera in hand for 20 minutes.. going down hill, dodging deer, pedestrians and what not.

John's camera work is almost tame in comparison. LOL..
At least he stops to take a picture or two.... other wise they would be blurry.

The 7-Up sign's been there since I've been a kid - though it's been touched up since.

Incredibly, I didn't notice the cop car or the SSS sticker in the window til I got home and looked at the photos.  The way I had the camera facing, I couldn't see what was in the view finder - was just aiming to get a picture of me in the glass without the glass catching the flash.  But it wound up being more interesting and meaningful....

The chalk message helped put my trip in a broader perspective for me.

I did see the video that Ken Kitts took but he was riding in the country and John lives on a street with heavy traffic. Why would anyone want to videotape while riding a bike on a busy street? What is there to see on Cleveland Street that is so interesting anyway? lol
