15 Poetry Books
Kathy, Wendy, Bree and some other friends posted a note on Facebook about 15 books that impacted 'em - and since I think I did such a list before (though I can't remember what I put on it) and I don't wanna be repetitive, here's a narrower list of 15 poetry books or books about poetry that impacted me as a writer or person. It's not a complete list - just the first 15 that popped into my mind. Some impacted me a long time ago. Some (perhaps obviously) did a lot more recently.

Lots of poetry here... I could have done the same because right now that's mostly what I'm reading. But I wanted to share a few titles instead that have pivotal for me at different times for different reasons.

It's a very vulnerable thing, listing one's influences. Now people can pad through and see who you've ripped off.
I'm still recovering from my Elizabeth Barrett Browning scandal.
Raised a strict southern Baptist with extreme doubts I was afraid to voice, I found in Milton proof a great example of how to get away with it without being irredeemably condemned to hell.
I like what Bono said - a lot of times it's true, though we try to avoid it. "Every artist is a cannibal, every poet is a thief. All kill their inspiration and sing about their grief."
