Weekend Update (with more Cleveland Street scenes)

piss on it

I'm finally over my hellish cold and beginning to get caught up.  Friday night we kept the grandkids.  Saturday we went to Toledo for a poetry reading slash going away party for John Dorsey, who's now moved out west (photos and videos will be appearing eventually).  The Cleveland Cavs shot their best season ever down the pisser (making way for base balls?).  Sunday I finally had enough energy again to catch up on some yard work.  Geri's son David and his family visted us briefly.  Our roofer's almost done, too, after banging above us for nearly two weeks.  Last night, we watched the film Frost/Nixon (which I highly recommend).  And today I caught up on a bit of housekeeping and added about 20 more of Plato's Dialogues to the Online Library.  I also created a Tres Versing the Panda category there, to make it easier to find videos from that festival (I'll be posting more soon).  And I'm still working on the first issue of Fuck Poetry.  Meanwhile, these are more photos I took on Cleveland Street in Elyria during my 24 May bike ride.

Peace and poetry,
John

Cool. do you really wear sunglass to clean house?

Getting good use out of the bike and the camera.. Do you ever take the dogs along? I have a friend that runs her dog while on her bike.. they both get a good work out.

    Glad you are feeling better.

I had just come in from the bike ride and couldn't resist snapping a photo before I took 'em off.
We just ate a Master pizza (the place is across the street from our house) last week.  Last night we ran over to get something and discovered it's suddenly empty and has a For Lease sign in the window.  Feels like I've lost an old friend, since there's been a Master Pizza in Elyria since I was a wee lad.

If I took these dogs on a bike ride, I'd probably wreck quickly.

Too bad about the pizza place... it's the economy of course.
Here in Detroit it's been devastating for small businesses since late last fall and just after Xmas.. they have been closing in droves. Many empty storefronts, like your Master's Pizza that have been around for seemingly forever. With the Big 3 ready to go belly up and parts suppliers cutting back too.. it is the worst I've seen it here since I was a child during a major auto strike years and years ago.
Anyway... Sorry for the long shpeel..

As far as the dog/ bike thing.. you would take one at a time.. not all three. and on a short leash till they were trained... Several people around here do it with their big dogs and they seem to love it. They get a really good work out... dog and owner alike.

But of course, you wouldn't be able to take pictures. LOL...
