Out and In Audible - a poem

Every act of creation
is an erasure
an abrasion
an anaphylactic
shock and awe
hack job
a pleasure
wrought of leisure
and an irrepressible
need to blather on
both with and without
words.

Every devastation is
an act of creation
is an act
of transfusion
and a letting of blood
rich jewel confusion
a measure
of destruction
in the symphony
of what is becoming
a disillusion
of what is not
a twat shot full of love
a love of splatter
a shortage
and abundance
of what we call sanctity
and insanity
in and out
of fertile matter.

Every creation is
an act of destruction
and reproduction
a deconstruction
of yesterday
but a recreation
of tomorrow
an ablation
sullied only by illusion
a transmission
in search of substantiation
contracted
into transubstantiation
expanding like
an outstanding ovation
both with and without
reason
a scene
both with and without
cohesion
both in and out
of season
both over
and under heard.

Thanks!  I had Pablo Picasso's statement in the back of my head: "Every act of creation is first of all an act of destruction."  My riff on his theme just kinda flowed out in one stream....  But I wrote the third stanza second and the second stanza third - then switched them around because it seems to work better this way.

Thanks!  Another old quotation that was flapping around in my head when I wrote this was by Mikhail Bakunin: "The urge for destruction is a creative urge."  Maybe he's right - but it always seemed more obvious to me that vice versa was true -- the urge for creation is a destructive urge.  Don't think they have to be mutually exclusive....

Thanks!  I've not been posting my best poems on my blog lately -- been instead submitting them places that don't like to publish previously blogged poems.  But I couldn't resist this exception.

I'm still pondering it myself.  Thanks for your feedback -- it's always much appreciated.

I am still pondering the literary criticism call "deconstruction" that seems to tear apart the meaning to find different meanings. After hearing several papers on this subject, however, I think it is losing its appeal in academic circles now. It is hard to follow the logic and the papers are often Marxist in essence. Try that one out for creation vs destruction. Do we destroy the old to create the new?

The old is always destroyed to create the new... it is a law of nature... be it personal or cosmic. Sometimes the transformation is forceful and apparent, sometimes subtle and complex... but always change is need to foster new growth. Change in a way.. equals destruction.. Talked about as a principle in all world religions.. some have it as an important touchstone other less... still significant.
