Never thought I'd say it, but...

I'm glad you saw this John. Yes, I think it's the first time I agree with him as well.
I understand their fears but I still don't think it is legal or right to do this. Because then why even impose a sentence? Just give a life term for all sexual offenses and be done with it. (that is sarcasm on my part)
They don't do this with other crimes.
Shades of Guantanimo.....

I never thought I would say that I agree with Clarence Thomas either, but he called this one right.

I still can't believe it. If you want to be able to keep someone locked up indefinitely, then give him a life sentence in the first place.

Wouldn't that be consider "cruel and unusual punishment"? To keep someone like that for an open ended amount of time beyond a sentence that was already specified. With no idea then if you will EVER be released?
It would seem to me that it would be..
Also doesn't that set a legal precident of some sort
that would then enable them to keep other people they deem "dangerous" in a Guantanimo like fashion....
It makes me shudder to think of the ramifications... it seems a break down of the justice system .
