A Door o' Bull
— Nikos Kazantzakis, The Last Temptation of Christ
prison door slammed after me
or just a cell door
Today six years past
prison door slammed behind me
or was it before
And if I don't know
and you weren't even there then
why do I ask you?

can you give a hint as to what the 6 yrs. might stand for? If it is private you don't have to say... because it doesn't seem to relate to the time you served. Seems to relate to something else.
Perhaps we don't need to know.
But I like this.. it's very thoughtful.
I think we imprison ourselves sometimes with our own choices... and also in our inability to take risks sometimes... or move beyond fear.
Speaking from my own space here...
But I think sometimes the most impenetrable prisons are the ones of our own making.. be they real or unreal.

seeing your other blog with the note from martin made it clear. Sorry i didn't remember how long.
The six years seem to have gone by fast... as Tara says.
all the more reason to make "hay" while the sun is up.

I'm assuming it's been six years since you've been home. It seems like this happened a long, long time ago. Six years isn't really that long. Someone once told me that the first seven years are the hardest.
