Heart Burn

A storm cloud swells in my chest
steam seems to scald toward an opening
an opportunity to unite
with the world wind
to escape

I take another Prilosec
rinse it down with snow cold lager
fail to stop what feels like her acid rain
beneath my rib cage
pounding

I love the way the stanzas swell and sink word by word -- a movement like "storm clouds." Great work.

So would this be sort of a companion piece to "alarm Block"? seems like it could be..

I do like how you've manage to make gold out of straw from this one... I'm not sure I've ever seen a poem that incorporates heartburn into it before.. so bravo.
