Colon and Gut Got

Thanks to everyone who's wished me well. I'm home and feeling pretty good. Since they used propofol instead of Verced this time, I'm not so knocked out. The doc found/removed 8 polyps in my stomach, 2 in my colon, found more acid-related scarring around the site of my Barrett's esophagus, and did a bunch of biopsies. I'm gonna chill for the afternoon, listen to Rahsaan Roland Kirk and read Dylan Thomas.

worried about the polyps.. didn't know you could have them in your stomach... But I suppose they will tell you if there is anything to worry about soon enough.

No ulcers? if so that's good. It seems beer is not all that great for stomach issues... saw an article related to it today.

Leaving a thought and prayer for a good outcome and a clean bill of health. May you be well Mr. B.

Thanks!  The doctor seemed more concerned about the scar tissue than the polyps.  But we'll see....

Thank you, Lady! He said the stomach polyps are generally more a nuisance than anything else - that the colon polyps are the ones that often develop into cancer if not eliminated. The increase in scar tissue in my esophagus since my last EGD (5 or 6 years ago) seemed to concern him most - and he did several biopsies there.

Look on the lighter side - you should weigh a little less with some of your innerds out.

After they removed my throat cancer in 2005 they discovered my head was packed from brain pan to eyeballs with polyps. They took em out during the biopsy and told me not to worry cuz they're seldom malignant (and they weren't).

Thanks, Smith!  I do feel a lot lighter - though the two days of mag citrate induced diaarrhea that preceded the procedure might have something to do with that.  The intense pain I was feeling off and on under my sternum hasn't recurred since the scopage - don't know if the polyp removal had anything to do with that or if it's the change in medicine (he took me off Prilosec and put me on Dexilant, which I'd never heard of before).
