Gildzen and Burroughs get D'Elyrious 9/15 in Lorain
Alex Gildzen and I will be reading poetry Thursday 15 September 2011 at 8:30 pm on the outdoor stage of the Lorain Art's Council's Sweet and Savory Bistro, 737 Broadway in Lorain, Ohio. I'm really excited that we were able to work out the scheduling while Alex is in town from Santa Fe for his mom's 90th birthday and the LAC's "Go Figure" art show is still going on. For more information on this very special event, please see our D'Elyrious Night page on Facebook.

Looking forward to it.

was it deliberate to change the time to 8 pm. and not tell others?

No one changed the time. I didn't run the event, I was just asked to read and asked to pick someone to read with, and I picked Alex. The Lorain Arts Council picked the time, 8:30, because that's when it would be dark and that's what time Smith & Lady began last month. Antonio told us when to begin once we got there. I know we didn't begin reading at 8 o'clock because I was still at Jackalope with Alex at 8. The only reason the event page says 8 (and it's always said 8) was to give people a chance to look at art in the gallery and grab a beverage or snack before the reading. You missed the open mic because only 4 people read, it only lasted ten minutes and I'm pretty sure you didn't arrive by 8:30. I didn't record the open mic. But according to the clock on my video camera (which has always been accurate), Alex (the first featured poet) began reading at 8:49. I seem to recall you arriving just as he was beginning.
