Bela Double

In the coming month I'll be participating in at least two big events at bela dubby art gallery and beer cafe, 13321 Madison Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio.

First is this Saturday, October 29th 2011 at 7 p.m.: Writing Knights Press presents Knightmares!  The evening's featured poets/performers will be T.M. Göttl, Connor Stratman (from Chicago), Roger Craik, Catherine Criswell (last month's word joust champion), a band called The Ohioans and some guy named John Burroughs.

Next will be Wednesday November 16th 2011 at 7 p.m.: Dianne Borsenik and I are thrilled to announce that the Lix and Kix Poetry Extravaganza's 3rd anniversary bash will feature word magic (and new chapbooks) by Jack McGuane (Chickenhawk), Bree (the melody, i swear, its just around that way) and Steven Smith (Unruly) - plus stunning dance by Jacqueline Honoshofsky.

Sounds fun.... does this mean you are done with your "retirement"? Or is the Lix reading just a one time thing? Or are you starting them back up again?

Just wondering... they are missed... you guys know how to through a good poetry party.

Thanks!  Besides upcoming readings in Erie and Pittsburgh, I remain mostly retired (especially from event hosting).  But we want to at least continue doing an annual Lix and Kix event to keep the flame alive.  Maybe there will be another Lix in December or some other time, but we haven't decided yet.

well I hope this is actually helping you to get caught up and perhaps write more. I know that was what it sounded like you were hoping for.

Time has a way of filling itself with lots of things that are other peoples stuff though.. make time for yourself Mr. B. Not just writing and work but letting your hair down and doing nothing.
I've been reading the Zen Works of Stonehouse this week... a 14th century Chinese poet... and he writes a lot of beautiful thoughts and lines about absolutely nothing. And I'm blown away...

I think doing nothing seems to help develop "seeing" and not looking... because he gets a lot from very little. Something I want to emulate.

        anyway... sorry for rambling.

When is your Pittsburgh gig sir?
