The Eater of the Absurd - my biggest book yet - out 12/12/12

But sometimes "bad shit" can be a wickedly good term of endearment — you know, like "Super Bad." (James Brown, anyone?) So here's something super bad in a very good way (to me, anyway) that excites me even more than a lot of things that excite me.
My first ever full-length collection of poetry, The Eater of the Absurd, is published this week by NightBallet Press. At 60 pages, it's my biggest collection yet. I'm inclined to argue that it's also my best. Not only does each individual poem tell its own story. The book as a whole flows together and tells a bigger story. Editor Dianne Borsenik has done a wonderfully intense and thorough job of making sure everything is just right and ensuring that I took no shortcuts. In many ways, this book feels like the perfect culmination of not only my nearly five years in the poetry scene, but also my entire literary life. It includes poems written indoors, outdoors, in bars, behind bars and in a lot of places in between.
If you'd like a signed (or unsigned) copy, please send $10 plus $3 for shipping to me, John Burroughs, at 3344 W. 105th Street #4, Cleveland, Ohio 44111. Or click here:
If you're in the Cleveland area, you can skip the shipping charge by coming Wednesday 12/12/2012 at 7 p.m. to Mac's Backs Books, 1820 Coventry Road in Cleveland Heights, for a reading/party with me, Dianne Borsenik and Bonné de Blas. Bonné's excellent new chapbook, The Act of Dwelling, was also published this year by NightBallet. And Dianne's fine and already famous Fortune Cookie was recently published by Kattywompus Press. I'll also have copies of my new Spare Change Press chapbook Barry Merry Baloney on hand for a discounted reading day price of $5. It'll all be some really "bad shit" in a good way, at least to me — and I'm pretty sure to you as well.
See you there (I hope)! <3

I will definitely be adding this to my collection. Congrats John..looking forward to reading !!
